I have standards and these just don't cut it! And a movie review...

In my last adventure to Walmart I wanted to pick up some extra bags of my favorite Kettle Salt and Vinegar chips. But, alas, they had none. Booooooooooooooooooooooo! So, trying to be charitable, I decided to try a different brand.

My first clue that they weren't going to be up to par was the "40% Less Fat."  They were NOT good. I ate a few and have decided I will not be eating any more. Anyone want an almost full bag of chips. Anyone? Anyone? Well, I don't blame you, they suck.

And I also decided to try a "pop chip." "They" claim those chips are healthier than even the baked ones. Sure, sure.... But, okay. Desperate times, call for desperate measures. And so I tried these:

I must have been really hungry when I first tried them, because I thought they tasted okay. But, then I grabbed one this afternoon and they are total BLECHHHHHHHHHH!! Now I have two bags of gross chips to get rid of. I guess, I should see if anyone in my humble abode likes them. I think that is going to be highly unlikely.

Today, I watched the movie "That's What I Am" with my children.

This movie was about a bullying situation, set in 1965.  I was a little bit hesitant to watch it with them, since there were going to be references to homosexuality. I haven't had a thorough conversation with C#1 or C#2 about this and wasn't sure if today, should be the day.  Thankfully, it doesn't delve into the the topic, too much. There are no details given or anything like that.  Some of the "bad" reviews on this movie said that it came across like an "after school special." I thought it was better than that and it had a good message. It did bring up an interesting discussion with my children. It's not terribly exciting, but, it did keep my children's attention.  It probably helped that the main character is an 8th grader, which is close in age to C#1 and C
#2.  Of course there was some teenage smooching, which C#1 wasn't impressed with. And I made sure to tell him that girlfriends are overrated and too much work and you really should wait and kissing is overrated and whatever I could think of to make it sooooo not cool.  I don't think I am going to have an issue -- at least not yet. PHEW! Buttttt, I was that age once and, and, and..... Wellllll.. Let's not go there.

Well that is all that's on my agenda for the moment. I think we'll have tacos for dinner. I know you wanted to know.

Till next time....
